Award Booking Service: Terms of Service
These Terms explain the scope, fees, responsibilities, limitations, and other conditions that apply when you engage thePointsPage for an award travel search.
Last updated: July 24, 20261. Description of the Service
thePointsPage, a TPP Consulting, LLC company (“thePointsPage,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides research, consulting, and booking guidance for travelers seeking to redeem points and miles for airline travel.
Depending on the agreed scope of your request, the Award Booking Service may include:
- An initial consultation regarding your travel goals, dates, destinations, flexibility, cabin preferences, number of travelers, and available rewards
- Research of airline loyalty programs and relevant transfer partners
- Identification of potential award-flight options
- Suggested routings, alternate airports, positioning flights, stopovers, or date variations
- Guidance regarding which points or miles may be used
- Instructions for transferring rewards and completing a reservation
The specific scope of your search will be confirmed before paid work begins.
2. Consultation and Service Engagement
The initial consultation is used to determine:
- Whether your request is a reasonable fit for the service
- The agreed destinations, dates, cabin, and number of travelers
- Your flexibility and preferred loyalty programs
- The expected search timeline
- Applicable service fees
- Any special circumstances or potential additional charges
The initial consultation does not include a complete award search and does not guarantee that we will accept your request.
The award search begins only after the scope has been agreed upon and the required initial search fee has been paid.
3. Service Fees
The standard Award Booking Service fees are:
The $100 initial search fee is nonrefundable and compensates thePointsPage for the time and resources committed to beginning your search.
Applicable traveler fees are due before detailed award options and booking instructions are released. Traveler fees remain due whether or not you ultimately decide to book an option presented to you.
Additional fees may apply to unusually complex, multi-city, multi-program, or specialized requests. Any nonstandard fee will be disclosed and approved before the related work begins.
Standard Fee Examples
| Service Request | Total Fee |
|---|---|
| One traveler with no search changes | $250 |
| Two travelers with no search changes | $400 |
| One traveler with one qualifying search change | $350 |
| Two travelers with two qualifying search changes | $600 |
4. Changes to the Original Search
Your award search is based on the requirements agreed upon during the consultation.
A qualifying change may include changing:
- Travel dates or the acceptable travel window
- Origin or destination
- Number of travelers
- Cabin preference
- Acceptable airports
- Maximum points or cash budget
- Permitted connections or positioning flights
- Loyalty programs or points available for the booking
- Other material requirements that affect the search
A $100 search-change fee may apply when a requested change requires us to conduct a new or substantially revised search. Adding another traveler may also result in an additional $150 traveler fee.
We will notify you before performing work that will result in an additional charge.
5. Award Availability Is Not Guaranteed
Award availability is controlled exclusively by airlines and loyalty programs. It may change, disappear, or increase in price at any time and without notice.
thePointsPage cannot guarantee:
- That award space will be available for your preferred flights
- That multiple travelers will be available on the same itinerary
- That an airline will continue offering an award at the same price
- That transfer bonuses or transfer-partner relationships will remain available
- That an airline website, call center, or booking system will function correctly
- That an option found during our search will remain available when you attempt to book it
- That the option presented represents the lowest price that may ever become available
6. Award Search Results
We will make a good-faith effort to identify options that reasonably match the requirements agreed upon during your consultation.
An option may be considered responsive to your request even when it involves:
- Alternate airports
- Connecting flights
- Mixed cabins
- Separate reservations
- Positioning flights
- Different loyalty programs
- Travel on nearby dates
- Higher taxes or carrier-imposed surcharges
- More points than your preferred target
We will explain material differences whenever an option does not precisely match the original request.
If no reasonable options are identified, the initial $100 search fee remains nonrefundable because it compensates thePointsPage for performing the search. The per-traveler fee will not be charged unless award options or a completed search report are prepared for delivery.
7. Booking Responsibilities
thePointsPage provides booking guidance but does not book airline tickets on your behalf.
You are responsible for:
- Logging into your loyalty program and credit card accounts
- Confirming passenger names and personal information
- Transferring points or miles
- Paying airline taxes, fees, and surcharges
- Completing the reservation
- Confirming that the ticket was issued correctly
- Reviewing all flight dates, times, airports, cabins, and connection details
- Retaining confirmation numbers and ticket receipts
You should not transfer points until you have independently verified the award availability and are prepared to complete the booking.
Transfers between credit card and airline loyalty programs are generally controlled by the applicable programs and may be delayed, rejected, or irreversible. thePointsPage is not responsible for lost points, delayed transfers, incorrect transfers, or availability changes occurring during the transfer process.
8. Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide complete and accurate information, including:
