That’s what’s happening at Breathless Cancún Soul Resort & Spa. The popular adults-only property is leaving Hyatt and reemerging as Amàre Cancún Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort, Curio by Hilton.
For someone choosing a new vacation, the change adds another Hilton Honors option in Cancún. For travelers who already booked through Hyatt, it creates more immediate questions. Your room reservation, loyalty benefits, points and elite-night credit don’t necessarily follow the building when its affiliation changes.
When Breathless Cancún Soul Is Leaving Hyatt
Hyatt says Breathless Cancún Soul will no longer be affiliated with Hyatt or the Inclusive Collection effective September 30, 2026. Guests holding reservations for stays on or after that date should receive direct communication from the resort’s new operator.
That date matters even though Hilton’s formal opening announcement uses October 31. Hilton says the converted resort is scheduled to open under the Amàre and Curio Collection names on October 31, following updates to select public spaces and the food-and-beverage program.
There’s also a small but important inconsistency in the live booking information. Hilton’s property page currently says it’s accepting reservations beginning October 29, two days before the October 31 opening date in the company announcement.
Booked near the transition? Don’t assume every date shown online reflects the final operating schedule. If your stay falls on or after September 30—especially during October—contact the property or the program through which you booked and request written confirmation of the operating brand, reservation status, included benefits and payment terms.
The resort’s physical address and main structure aren’t changing. It will remain on Boulevard Kukulcan in Cancún’s Hotel Zone, between the Caribbean Sea and Nichupté Lagoon.
What the New Amàre Cancún Will Offer
Amàre Cancún will remain an adults-only, all-inclusive beachfront resort. Hilton says the property will have 429 rooms and suites across two neighboring towers. Each tower will have a rooftop pool, with a third pool at ground level.
The planned dining program includes nine restaurants, nine bars and a coffee shop. Hilton is also promoting Mediterranean-inspired wellness, resident DJs, live performers, rotating art exhibits and dining concepts developed with Michelin-starred chefs.
Additional facilities include a fitness center, a spa with nine treatment rooms and nearly 10,000 square feet of meeting space. All rooms are expected to have ocean views, although travelers should still confirm the exact view and room category shown during booking.
The transition is more than a new sign at the entrance. Hilton says select public areas and food-and-beverage offerings will receive brand-integration enhancements before the resort joins Curio Collection. It hasn’t yet published a complete list of renovations or a final schedule for every venue.
The Biggest Change Is the Loyalty Program
Under Hyatt, Breathless Cancún Soul participates in the World of Hyatt all-inclusive award chart as a Category C property. That participation ends with the Hyatt affiliation.
Stays completed after the property leaves Hyatt shouldn’t be expected to earn World of Hyatt points, elite-qualifying nights or Hyatt status benefits. That includes benefits travelers may have been counting on from Globalist status or other World of Hyatt tiers.
The resort will instead participate in Hilton Honors. Eligible paid reservations booked through Hilton can earn Hilton Honors points and receive the benefits associated with the member’s Hilton status, subject to the program and property terms.
This is an important reminder that elite status belongs to a loyalty program—not permanently to a particular hotel. A traveler who booked the property because of Hyatt status may have a different experience after the conversion, even if the room and resort footprint look familiar.
What Happens to Existing Reservations?
Hyatt’s public notice says guests with reservations on or after September 30 will receive communication from the resort’s new operator. Independent reporting indicates existing paid reservations are expected to be honored, but the exact handling of every reservation may depend on its rate, dates and booking channel.
Points reservations deserve extra attention. A confirmed Hyatt award may remain attached to the underlying hotel reservation, but travelers shouldn’t assume it will produce Hyatt elite credit, Hyatt benefits or a clean conversion into a Hilton reward stay.
If you have an affected reservation, verify:
- Whether the reservation remains confirmed under the same room and rate terms.
- Whether any previously charged deposit remains attached correctly.
- Which loyalty program, if any, will provide points or elite-night credit.
- Whether Hyatt elite benefits promised at booking will still apply.
- How a points reservation, certificate or points-plus-cash booking will be handled.
- Whether the cancellation deadline or refund process has changed.
Keep screenshots of the original confirmation, room description, rate rules and included benefits. If the operator sends updated terms, save those messages with your travel records.

Is Amàre Cancún a Good Hilton Honors Redemption?
The early numbers aren’t enough to declare this a Hilton sweet spot. The Points Guy found opening cash rates around $308 per night for two guests and Hilton award pricing from 89,000 points, but both figures can change by date.
At 89,000 points against a roughly $308 cash rate, the value is only around 0.35 cents per point before considering taxes, eligible fees or the exact cancellation terms. That isn’t automatically terrible for a Hilton redemption, but it isn’t the sort of result that should make you transfer or buy points without comparing alternatives.
Longer award stays could produce better value. Hilton Honors Silver members and above can receive a fifth night free on qualifying standard-room reward stays booked entirely with points. If the resort makes five consecutive nights available at 89,000 points each under eligible standard reward pricing, the benefit would reduce the total from 445,000 to 356,000 points—an effective average of 71,200 points per night.
That example isn’t a promise of availability. Hilton award prices are dynamic, the fifth-night benefit requires an eligible standard-room reward, and all five nights need to be available under qualifying terms.
Hilton’s all-inclusive guidance says points bookings include the property’s all-inclusive benefits without additional package fees. Still, airport transportation, off-site excursions, spa treatments and certain premium selections may cost extra.
Should Hyatt Loyalists Keep the Reservation?
If you booked because you genuinely wanted this resort, keeping the reservation may still make sense. The property remains adults-only, beachfront and all-inclusive, and the announced plans retain much of what makes the location appealing.
If you booked primarily because of World of Hyatt, the calculation is different. Losing expected status recognition, elite-night credit or a specific Hyatt redemption could be enough to justify looking elsewhere—particularly when those benefits were a major part of the trip’s value.
Before cancelling, compare the full cost of a replacement. A different Hyatt resort might preserve your loyalty benefits but require more points, a less convenient location or a stricter rate. Protect the Rest of the Trip
A resort conversion doesn’t automatically qualify as a covered reason under a credit card or travel insurance policy. If the hotel honors the reservation but changes the loyalty benefits, insurance generally shouldn’t be treated as a guaranteed solution.

If you decide to change resorts, check every connected reservation before cancelling anything. A new hotel may affect airport transfers, positioning flights, tours, dining plans and the cancellation terms for the rest of the trip.

Breathless Cancún Soul’s move from Hyatt to Hilton creates a new all-inclusive option for Hilton Honors members, but it removes a prominent Cancún redemption from World of Hyatt.
The resort itself isn’t disappearing. It will remain an adults-only beachfront property and will reopen as Amàre Cancún, Curio by Hilton, with updated public spaces, an expanded culinary focus and Hilton Honors participation.
The most important issue is timing. Hyatt’s affiliation ends September 30, Hilton officially lists an October 31 opening, and Hilton’s booking page currently accepts reservations beginning October 29. Travelers booked during or after the transition shouldn’t guess which benefits will apply.
Confirm the reservation directly, save the response and make your decision based on the program and benefits you’ll actually receive—not the logo that appeared when you originally booked.
